Jack Dorsey’s Block Launches Bitcoin Day Event, Offers $1M in BTC Prizes
Jack Dorsey Block's Raw app, Square and Bitkey are launching a $1 million Bitcoin giveaway on Bitcoin Day that encourages users to buy, spend and own the digital asset through their platforms.
The campaign, which was teased last Friday, will run from April 6 to April 10, but will close early if $1 million in Bitcoin is fully claimed, according to the team.
The event promises instant bonuses to users who perform at least one of three actions: buy Bitcoin on the Cash App, withdraw Bitcoin at participating Square merchants, or keep BTC on the Bitkey app itself.
Each bonus is instantly applied to the user's Cash App Bitcoin balance, and customers can earn a maximum of $80 in total bonuses by completing the three actions.
To participate, users must be at least 18 years of age, have a US address, maintain a Cash App account in good standing, and complete KYC verification. New York residents are allowed to buy Bitcoin but cannot engage in spending or ownership features.
Block currently holds a value of 8,883 BTC worth about $616 million, making it the 14th largest public company holding the digital asset.
