Jihan Wu will take over as CEO of Bitdeer in March.
Former Bitmain CEO Jihan Wu Lingui Kong will assume the CEO role at Bitdeer as he transitions to become the company's CEO.
In a Jan. 29 announcement, BitDear said Wu would transition from the role of chairman of the company's board of directors to CEO as of March 1, when the crypto mining company was spun off from mining chip maker Bitmain in 2020. In the year Co-founded in 2013 with Mikri Jean.
According to Wu, the change in leadership is aimed at focusing on himself and Kong. [their] Areas of Difference” and “Take full advantage of emerging strategic growth opportunities. Kong has served as CEO since January 2021.

Wu is also the founder of crypto financial services firm Matrixport. The company made waves in January after analysts reported that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission would not allow listings of spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds. The SEC approved such offerings on January 10.
Prior to his departure from Bitmain, Wu was involved in a power struggle with Zan, including a lawsuit against Zan and an attack on the company's Beijing office. Wu stepped down as CEO and officially parted ways with the company in 2021.
