Kraken founder Jesse Powell has announced on X that he has personally donated $1 million, mostly in Ether, to Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign.

Powell emphasized his support for Trump, the only major party candidate currently advocating for pro-crypto policies.

Powell criticized the Biden administration

Powell criticized current President Joe Biden's regulatory approach to the crypto industry in the post.

Powell accused officials such as Senator Elizabeth Warren and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler of undermining US competitiveness.

“For too long the crypto industry has been under attack by Elizabeth Warren, Gary Gensler and others.”

Powell: Pro-Trump, pro-Ulbricht.

Powell believes that Trump's candidacy in the upcoming 2024 presidential election will provide an opportunity for the United States to lead the way in blockchain technology.

“I am excited to join other leaders from our community in joining the only pro-crypto major party candidate in the 2024 presidential election to ensure that the United States continues to be a leader in blockchain technology.”

The post, which included a photo of Powell and Trump cementing their alliance, also included the hashtag #freeross, a reference to Ross Ulbricht.

In 2015, Ulbricht was sentenced to 40 years in prison without parole for creating and operating Silk Road, an online black market used to buy goods and services anonymously.

RFK Jr. To forgive Ulbricht if elected

On June 20, US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on the X-Post that he would exonerate Ulbricht if elected in November.

“Ross Ulbricht has been in prison too long. Two life sentences for hosting an e-commerce platform. Yes, there was illegal activity there, but come on.”

RFK Jr. After pledging to pardon Ulbricht if elected president, he said he would sign the petition to demand his release, and encouraged readers to do the same.
