La'S Bored Ape Lovers Go Hungry, Bitcoiners Sell $500 Game Boy Dupe And More

Bored and hungry LA flips the ultimate NFT-in-a-burger

Los Angeles burger restaurant Bored Up Yacht Club (BAYC) used the nonfungible token (NFT) as the brand is serving its last patties and fries after two years in business and selling as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

“Today we said goodbye to the Bored and Hungry location in Long Beach, California,” co-founder Andy Nguyen said in an April 8 post.

Nguyen added “branding and franchising company” Hungry DAO has acquired the Bored and Hungry brand, which also has three locations in the Philippines, one in Seoul, South Korea and pop-ups in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai at the end of the year. .

The restaurant's founding team will join DAO as a shareholder, and the brand will “soon announce their new home in America,” he added.

Bored Up NFT opened in April 2022, and other Bored Up NFT holders have launched businesses — including a Cuban restaurant in Miami — using their rights to NFT.

“The supportive BAYC and Web3 community helped us become the first to leverage ownership of digital IP assets and create a restaurant brand,” Nguyen wrote. “We're proud to have made our mark, and we're excited to see where it takes the community next.”

Game Boy dupe Bitcoin costs $500 to play NFTs.

Ordz Games, a gaming platform based on Bitcoin Ordinals, plans to launch a Bitcoin gaming console and crypto wallet that looks just like a Game Boy for a reported price of $500.

On April 7 at the Web3 gaming expo in Hong Kong, Ordz unveiled the BitBoy One device, which combines the name “Bitcoin” and “Game Boy” – not to be confused with the crypto influencer's one-time “Warrior” of the same name.

Ordz Games expects the console to cost around $500, with exact pricing pending, with pre-orders scheduled for mid-April, GamesBeat reports.

That's 10 times more than handheld retro game consoles like the Anburnik, which start at $50 and compete with the new entry-level PlayStation 5, which costs $50 more.

The BitBoy One can play retro-style play-to-evens games on Bitcoin using the NFT-emulating Ordinals protocol and act as a wallet to store any Bitcoin (BTC) earned, which – obviously – neither the PS5 nor Anbarnik consoles can do. .

The Bitcoin platform can be operated by users who can farm airdrops by leaving the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) to work, according to the press release.

Doodles to make a movie with Lil Wayne as a skeleton

NFT collective Doodles teased the upcoming animated film Dullsville and The Doodleverse, which will feature rappers Lil Wayne and Koy LeRay as voice characters.

In an April 5 post on X, the group said the film's “storytelling experience” will begin rolling out “in the summer” (that's mid-year for non-Americans) with music, live events, collaborations, merchandise and NFTs. He decided to market it as “digital collection experiences”.

The marketing hype will culminate with the film's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
