London-based Talk-Edge has announced its redemption token after the company’s $15 million valuation.
London-based crypto hedgefund Tok-Edge has introduced Redemption Token, a novel crypto asset class developed by the company. The company also announced a valuation of $15 million.
Founded by experts in traditional finance and crypto, TalkEdge recently came out of hiding, raising nearly $1.5 million from GP investor and founder of $10 billion AUM fund Marcus Mayer.
Meijer is expected to secure up to $10 million in funding with the fund's investors as Talk-Edge begins fundraising from institutional distributors, including family offices, venture investors and crypto-native funds. The leadership team brings combined experience managing over $950 billion in AUM at institutions such as CVC Capital, Bain Capital, KKR, BCG, Tufa and GoCoin.
Redemption token
The ransom token is a new category of crypto asset designed to combine permissionless transfer with defined functionality.
Tokens provide funding to investors and are redeemable for fund shares at net asset value. Ownership and economic rights remain embedded in the fund's shares, while the redemption token can be distributed independently on public blockchains, including Ethereum.
This structure allows tokens to be traded on exchanges and used in decentralized financial protocols, opening up new opportunities and use cases for owners and developers, maintaining redemption mechanics within the framework of the regulated fund.
“Talk-Edge was founded to bring institutional-grade products to crypto markets built around the openness and technological advantages of blockchain networks,” said Rais Chaudhuri, CIO of Talk-Edge. “The redemption token is a new crypto asset that serves as a key for fund investors to get their capital back and can be freely sold on the secondary market for price discovery.”
The fund's initial increase is limited to $21 million, which coincides with the token generation event, where investors will receive one redemption token for every dollar they invest. Allocation decisions are expected to be finalized in the next few months, as the fund initially pursues $100 million to close in 2026.
“The token model of redemption introduces an architecture that separates the ownership of the asset from the legal instrument that represents it. We are pleased to support Talk-Edge as it develops a structure that can expand the institutional market for digital asset products,” said Eric Benz, a former investor at Changely and an advisor to Talk-Edge's board.
