Megaeth Hits 47K Tps In Preparation For 11B Transaction Stress Test.

The data shows that Ethereum Layer 2 MegaETH hit network speeds of up to 47,000 transactions per second when the project was prepared for a stress test before its launch from the mainnet.

In X's post on Monday, MegaETH said it will start a “global stress test” on Thursday, with the next official launch.

“On January 22nd, we are opening the mainnet to users for high-latency-sensitive applications while the chain is under heavy and continuous load,” MegaETH said:

“Stress tests only focus if they're uncomfortable. We're doing continuous, real TPS of 15-35K, totaling 11B transactions in 7 days.”

The stress test involves the MegaETH team pushing the chain to the limit on its back, allowing users to engage with Web3 gaming applications stomp.gg, Smasher and Crossy Fluffle.

“On the background, the team will push ETH transfers and v3 AMM exchanges via @kumbaya_xyz until we reach 11B. Finally, MegaETH will have the largest tx count of all EVM chains in history, users will play with the chain without any conflicts,” the team said.

Billing MegaETH as “the first real-time blockchain” capable of processing more than 100,000 TPS, the project is Ethereum's layer 2 optimized for speed in addition to decentralization.

Currently, the MegaETH mainnet is only open to certain infrastructure developers and applications. The stress test sees a limited portion of the network open to users. In post X, the official launch will follow shortly after the completion of the MegaETH stress test.

MegaETH reached 47,000 TPS

MegaETH reached a peak of nearly 47,000 transactions per second (TPS) on January 16, according to X's post on Ethereum data analysis platform Progress Thursday.

“Okay @megaetho you have our attention, we'll see you check things out. At over 45k TPS, that's more transactions in 1 second than some chains do in a whole day. We're excited to see this potential put to good use!” There is progress.

MegaETH is looking to hit 15,000 to 35,000 TPS during the stress test, although the figure may vary after the official launch.

Other speed-focused chains like Solana have a theoretical maximum of 65,000 TPS. According to data from Token Terminal, however, real-world figures are closer to 3,100 TPS.
