In Q4 2025, 4,279 BTC worth more than $450 million was purchased, Metaplanet, the fourth largest Bitcoin treasury company, announced on Tuesday. With recent purchases, the company's holdings are now worth more than $3 billion at 35,102 BTC.

The Japanese public company aims to achieve a 568% increase in BTC production by 2025, CEO Simon Gerovitch explained in a statement. The company uses BTC production as a primary metric to measure Bitcoin accretion per share to shareholders.

Metaplanet also announced that it has completed payment for a third-party allotment of 23.6 million Class B “MERCURY” preferred shares. The shares were sold at 900 JPY each, and are worth more than 21 billion JPY (over $136 million) divided between capital stock and capital reserves.

The company said it plans to buy the bulk of the funds to buy more bitcoins, with the remainder going into bitcoin yield strategies and the redemption of corporate bonds.
