These 2 Altcoin Gems Could Gain from DePin, RWA, and AI Trends

Prominent analyst Kiren, known as noBScrypto at X (formerly of Twitter), recently highlighted undervalued assets Hedera (HBAR) and Internet Computing (ICP) among the trending narratives in 2024.

According to Kiren, these cryptocurrencies stand out due to their potential in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, decentralized physical infrastructure (DPI) and artificial intelligence (AI) development.

HBAR and ICP among the three leading web3 narratives

Kiren highlights Hedera (HBAR) and Internet Computer (ICP) as two altcoins that demonstrate how blockchain technology can connect across multiple narratives. According to him, these projects will serve a wide range of purposes by bridging the differences between the narratives of DePin, AI and RWA tokenization. This contrasts with projects like Bittensor (TAO), Ondo Finance (ONDO) and Aethir (ATH), which focus on specific verticals with more targeted solutions.

“You really want to do at least one project that touches these areas, some of which cover many. Diversify into lead projects, but focus on high-velocity narratives,” Kieran said.

Indeed, portfolio diversification is a wise investment strategy in high-velocity narratives. However, what may be more beneficial is the use of projects that work on multiple verticals simultaneously, providing broad exposure and growth potential.

Header (HBAR)

Hedera's focus on scalability, low latency, and security aligns with DePin's principles of decentralizing Internet infrastructure and promoting censorship resistance. Hedera Hashgraph, the technology behind HBAR, is a decentralized public network that provides highly scalable, secure and fair communication. This creates a strong foundation for developing decentralized applications (dApps). Additionally, HBAR enables efficient data transfer across the network using a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure.

While not an overtly AI-focused project, Hedera's architecture and capabilities can support artificial intelligence applications and machine learning algorithms. The network's fast endpoint, low transaction fees, and secure consensus mechanism make it ideal for handling complex AI calculations. Developers can leverage Hadera's scalability and performance to build AI solutions on a decentralized platform by exploring the integration of Blockchain and AI.

Moreover, Hedera's utility extends to tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) with native cryptocurrency, HBAR and smart contract capabilities. With the help of Hedera Consensus Services (HCS) and tokenization standards, users can create digital images of physical assets, securities, or commodities on the network. This facilitates seamless transfer and trading of tokenized RWAs while ensuring transparency, immutability and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Internet Computing (ICP)

Internet Computing (ICP) aims to transform the Internet by providing a decentralized and open protocol that hosts web content and services directly on the blockchain. It seeks to create a decentralized, ICP-disruptive, censorship-resistant Internet infrastructure that replaces the traditional client-server model. This aligns with DePin's principles of promoting a resilient, inclusive ecosystem where users can interact with dApps and services without intermediaries.

In addition, the Internet computing architecture supports AI models and applications, leveraging its computational power and scalability. The platform's ability to execute smart contracts at web speeds and store large amounts of data on-chain makes it ideal for AI use cases such as decentralized AI marketplaces, predictive analytics, and autonomous systems.

Although RWA tokenization is not the main focus of the Internet of Things, the architecture and smart contracts support the management of tokenized assets. Through ICP, users can unlock liquidity, fractional ownership and programmable features for assets such as real estate and commodities. This added utility expands the Internet computing ecosystem and demonstrates its versatility across multiple verticals.

Working in different areas, both Hedera and Internet Computers have achieved portfolio diversity and tap into many narrative trends. However, projects focused on a single vertical can also get a significant boost as their unique narratives emerge. Despite these options, investors should always do thorough research before making any decisions.
