Naib Bukele’s party takes control of legislature amid allegations of voter fraud
New ideas, re-elected Bitcoin (BTC) ruling party of Salvadoran President Naib Booke, secured top seats in the country's legislature.

The results are part of the national elections held on February 4. While the president claimed victory in the legislature, the opposition is calling for the results to be annulled, saying voters were rigged. Vamos, Nuestro Tiempo and the Nationalist Republican Alliance are reported to have found 69 “abnormalities” in the electoral process. Farabundo Marti's National Liberation Front party has made similar allegations of fraud and voter fraud.
Bukele started his career in June 2019 as one of the only global leaders to officially support cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. The Salvadoran government called for BTC to be accepted as legal tender in September 2021, with the New Idea party dominating the government.
Self-proclaimed “the world's best dictator”, Buccele has faced reports of human rights abuses in El Salvador as he attempts to control gang violence and killings. Buckele will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., on February 22. The gathering will include members of the US Republican Party's far right, Argentina's President Javier Millay, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and former-U.S. President Donald Trump.
