UK MPs Urge Action Against NFT Copyright Infringement, Crypto Enthusiast Tokens

A bipartisan parliamentary committee recently urged authorities in the United Kingdom to take action to prevent copyright infringement from NFTs. The committee called on the government to address the potential harm to sports teams that issue digital assets.

According to the members of the committee, “the most serious issue” is the danger to the intellectual property rights of artists, as NFTs can be easily and quickly processed.

Experts argue that the decline in the NFT market shows that it is maturing into a “real utility”.

Yemel Jardis, executive director of Decentraland Foundation, told Cointelegraph that he believes that with more community education on NFTs, the focus will shift from speculative trading to real utility.

According to the executive, a sharp drop in the price of NFTs should not be seen as a sign of distress. Jardi didn't call the NFT market a “resurgence” — rather, it's “maturing.”

Apple will shortly pull MetaMask from the App Store.

Ethereum wallet MetaMask, popular among NFT collectors, was removed from the Apple App Store on October 14.

At the time, Apple users were unable to download the app from the MetaMask website. Some speculate that Apple's terms of service are behind the app's demise. Apps that run “unconnected background processes” like cryptocurrency mining are banned under the App Store rules.
