Open Network to Test World Record for Fastest Blockchain (TON)

Today, the Open Network Foundation (TON Foundation) announced their upcoming attempt to officially name the world's fastest blockchain. A public network performance test scheduled for October 31, 2023 at 15:00 UTC will demonstrate the reliability, scalability and speed of the Open Network (TON) blockchain.
Ton Foundation has partnered with Alibaba Cloud to set up 256 servers for validator nodes and launch a separate Ton blockchain network for performance tests.
Since 2022, the TON blockchain has shown significant growth. The network has dramatically increased the number of addresses 20 times, from 170,000 to an impressive 3.5 million. The growth of Ton's user base has come with the expansion of Ton's validator nodes to 350, creating a decentralized network that is now spread across 25 different countries.
During this rapid expansion, the Ton blockchain has achieved a very reliable record with no recorded major network outages.
The partnership between the Tone Foundation and Telegram, announced on September 13, demonstrates the Tone Foundation's commitment to bringing decentralized technology into the mainstream. The upcoming performance test is an important step to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the Ton blockchain, now implemented in Telegram as a trusted infrastructure layer for the Web3 ecosystem.
Anatoly Makosov, head of core development at the Ton Foundation, said: “We are looking forward to October 31, 2023 to prove that the Ton blockchain will technically stand out among other blockchains, especially in terms of scalability. “This is Ton's first major public performance trial – we're just as excited for you to see the results.”
