Peter Mccormack Presents A New Podcast

Voted By Amazon Polly.

Peter McCormack's life is an open book. He was candid with his audience and the magazine about buying too much cocaine on Silk Road and finding Bitcoin while in the hospital in 2014.

A few years later, in In 2019, he wrote a piece for The Guardian revealing that he invested $1.2 million in Bitcoin and lost it all.

But after selling Bitcoin during the bear market to float the podcast he made, he emerged in 2024 richer and healthier than ever. This cycle maintained his income and fulfilled his childhood dream of managing Bedford Football Club.

Bitcoin is about to turn into a new podcast called The McCormack Show, and Real Bedford has added Bitcoin to his portfolio. McCormack said he is in a good place both professionally and personally.

“I have everything I want in the world. When I wake up, I can do whatever I want, which is a great place. I work with my son, who is a beautiful soul. I see my daughter all the time. My dad lives with me six months a year and helps with my soccer club. I work with my brother. I see my friends. Yeah, you know what, I feel like the luckiest person in the world to get this life.”

It will be the McCormack Show that made Bitcoin.

McCormack is in the fortunate position of being able to do whatever he likes as long as he puts out three podcasts a week. For the past seven years, Bitcoin has been the most popular podcast in the world.

But he's mixing things up, discussing every imaginable Bitcoin topic with over 900 guests, and starting September 10th will be a completely new podcast with a different format and theme, “Broad but with a Bitcoin Heartbeat.” ‘

He shared more on X's August 28th McCormack Show, saying he's tired of traveling the world interviewing Bitcoiners about what it takes from his beloved soccer club and local communities. Instead, bring guests to our new Soho studio.

He says the impetus for the evolution of the podcast was the realization that the world of Bitcoin can be somewhat isolated from the larger issues that affect ordinary people's lives.

“After spending a couple of weeks with Bitcoiners, I go home and I'm around friends and family and I notice a difference in the way we see the world. I feel like everything is going to grind, now that there's a lot of work to do.”

As a result, the new show will offer listeners “fresh perspectives and ideas, matched with real money if necessary – think shows we've had with the likes of Eric Weinstein and Michael Jackson.” Evil.

Fair and balanced, except for Peter Schiff's interview

He enjoys doing podcasts, sometimes he sticks to entertainment and sometimes to pure journalism. He tries to be fair and even-tempered.

“Telling stories is a journalist's job and sometimes your voice is involved. Podcasting offers an unusual mix of both styles and everyone has an opinion.

A good example of fairness was the famous moderator between Bitcoin expert Samson Mou and Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin. This earned McCormack's praise for his independent moderator stance.

“Naturally I'm on Samson's side on these issues, and I have no interest in Ethereum, but I wanted to give Vitalik space to formulate his arguments,” he said.

However, the neutrality doesn't extend to Goldbag's Peter Schiff stating how terrible Bitcoin is.

“I had another conversation with Peter Schiff and I wasn't particularly neutral in that conversation,” he said.

McCormack's passion for telling stories also led him to make documentaries – even if it came to the end of the road. There are still two in the pipeline, but he's less interested in making more. He has written a screenplay for a film he intends to develop. He doesn't elaborate on the plot but expresses his love for art house films and says it's a film about reflection.

Real Bedford FC: Bitcoin supports the evolution of football

He says he is entering retirement. He is busy with the football club and his family and friends.

As part of that new journey, he bought more Bitcoin for the club — 66.9 Bitcoin, in fact.

The funding comes after an initial investment from the Winklevoss twins in April, helping McCormack's goal of bringing his hometown club from the bottom of English football to the Premier League.

Since buying the club, Real Bedford have won the Spartan South Midlands League Division One in the 2022–23 season, leading to promotion. They continued their success by winning the Premier Division in the 2023–24 season and were promoted to the Southern League Division One Central for the 2024–25 season. Now, they are just four promotions away from the Premier League – an incredible process that will take time but is within reach.

McCormack is clear about how the new investment will be spent, 15.8 BTC will go towards ongoing football expenses and the rest will go into the club's treasury, echoing the strategy of MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor.

The Craig Wright Saga: Legal Victory over “Faketoshi”.

Another big success (eventually) was his unrelenting public criticism of Craig Wright, claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto.

In the year In 2023, Wright's defamation suit against McCormack resulted in a technical victory for Wright, but McCormack was ordered to pay £1 in damages. Wright's woes came in March when Judge Mellor of the UK High Court ruled unequivocally that Australia's claim was false, completely false and based on a bad lie. Mellor said: “So, Dr. Wright presents himself as a very talented person. But, in my opinion, he is not as talented as he thinks,” he said.

McCormack is currently chasing Wright for bankruptcy and won an important legal victory on the day of the interview with the magazine, allowing his legal team to freeze £1.548m of Wright's assets. McCormack says Wright must either pay the £800,000 bill or disclose his assets.

“I will not stop. My point is for both Craig and [his backer] Calvin [Ayres] It's about doing the right thing. They tried to cheat people and did not disappear. Even if it is five years since we started the struggle, we will succeed.

Bitcoin is a tool.

Having devoted most of his life to Bitcoin, he has some interesting ideas about it, and has changed his life to put those ideas to use.

“It makes you think about what money is, how you use it, how you accumulate wealth and how you plan for the future. “For me personally, money is a tool to help you achieve what you want to do, but it's also a tool for how you manage money,” he says.

Even if the government uses money as a tool, it is in a negative way by using the financial system for their benefit.

“When you understand money, you can use it as a weapon to your advantage. No one taught me about money until Bitcoin came along, and I realized that I needed money and assets – and Bitcoin was that asset.

McCormack explains his own financial revolution. He recently bought a house and the traditional financial thinking is to have as little mortgage as possible. However, he chose to have as large a loan as possible, so that he can expect as much money in Bitcoin as possible.

McCormack's entrepreneurial spirit also extended to the purchase of a pub but this raised his general anger, this time directed at the government. The government, whose purpose seems to be to tax the productive people, is worrying about its interests.

Converting Argentines to Bitcoin

Despite making a fortune, buying a football club and hosting the world's largest bitcoin podcast, McCormack modestly admits that he was unsuccessful in convincing his friends to invest.

“They don't listen,” he said, “and they've had better success converting money in countries like Argentina that have hyperinflation.” “And you tell them about Bitcoin – and they say, ‘Can we control money?'. ‘Then how do I get it?' It's an easy sell.”

“The great thing about Bitcoin is that it can lead to a different distribution of wealth and help those who are suffering the most.”

But McCormack seemed a bit surprised and didn't quite agree with my next question, which was whether the existence of Bitcoin would stop the rise of the Third Reich. Weren't those idle money-spinning wheels equipped to take advantage of the times?

“Does Bitcoin stop the rise of the Nazis and stop the holocaust? I mean, it's a hell of a thought experiment, but no, I don't think so. The pain is going back to the irrational war reparations that the country had to pay.”

Politics and cryptograms are not just left and right

It will probably give you a better understanding of McCormack. He's a Bitcoiner, but he doesn't think it will end all wars and cure cancer. He is not as right-wing as many in his audience, as he routinely battles them on X shows. He did not vote in the recent UK general election. He says that I have political extortion.

“I used to have conservative economic views, but fairly liberal social views, certainly in your own home.”

In the UK he sees both the Conservative Party and the Labor Party as very similar in terms of policy, with reform led by Brexiteer Nigel Farage using a traditional conservative vote.

But he prefers that they manage what they need and stop meddling.

“I think that the government's job is to ensure safety, respect the necessary parts of the law regarding fraud, theft, violent crimes, and the rest of the time I think the government should get out of trouble. People.
