‘Pharma Bro’ Martin Shkreli claims he helped create the DJT token.
Martin Shkreli, known as “Pharma Bro”, has claimed he was involved in the creation of Solana-based token DJT – which has been highly regarded after rumors that it is being “led” by Donald Trump's son.
On June 18, during X Spaces, Shkreli revealed that he was “helping out a friend” when he launched the token in April. He said about 10 people were directly involved in the creation, and that 40 to 50 people knew about it, and listeners reported that Donald Trump's son Barron Trump was among them, but he could not guarantee the support of the Trump family.
The post came four hours after Arkham Intelligence offered a $150,000 reward for anyone who could identify the creator of the gadget. Shkreli, along with prominent crypto trader GCR, accepted a $100 million bet that the DJT token was “fake,” and Arkham posted the prize.
“Let's face it, we're going to have a ball. $150,000 to the first person to correctly identify the creator of $DJT,” Arkham posted on X on June 18.
“Find real evidence of the creator of $DJT. We accept personal evidence for this grant, but if accepted, the evidence will be made public,” the grant announcement read. High-profile blockchain sleuth ZachXBT was among those who sent the submission, which played a role in Shkreli's decision to host X Spaces.
The betting is still on: Trump launches DJ?
Elsewhere on the internet, people continue to speculate whether the DJT token was launched by Trump or a member of his family.
Decentralized betting platform Polymarket reveals that nearly $1.9 million in bets one way or the other on whether the DJT token is “real”.
Only 17% of all bets were placed in the “yes” camp, a number that dropped to 7% after Shkreli's X Space.

Rumors that Trump is behind DJT Token and is being “led” by his son Barron Trump were first reported by tech blog Pirate Wires, which cited “conversations” but did not specify who the conversations were. with.
Pressed on where the information came from, Pirate Wires creator Mike Solana said he “has not spoken to Trump directly” and is “only reporting what I know from sources.”
DJT is currently trading at 0.012, down more than 66% from Tuesday's peak of 0.036, according to Birdseye.
