Philippine artists were hacked to promote the XRP scam

Several Filipino musicians' YouTube accounts have been hacked and are now promoting XRP scams.

On July 15, several accounts from popular musicians in the Philippines were seen promoting a deeply fake video of Brad Garlinghouse predicting that XRP (XRP) could reach $4. Such schemes often lead victims to phishing websites to get their money.

According to a report from local media Bitpinas, YouTube pages for local music band Ben & Ben, boyband SB19 and musician Rico Blanco have all been hacked.

YouTube accounts of Filipino musicians have been spotted promoting XRP scams.

Ben & Ben, which has more than three million followers on YouTube, announced on July 15 that their account had been hacked.

On their official Facebook page, the group said that their YouTube channel had been hacked and that their team was working to recover the page. When the band tried to get the page back, the account streamed a typical XRP scam.

A few hours later, the band announced that they had partially recovered their account from the hackers. However, the group announced that the account will still be leaked by the attackers. At the time of writing, the XRP cheat live stream has stopped appearing.

In the wake of the Ben & Ben hack, Filipino boy band SB19 announced that its YouTube account with 3.6 million followers had been hacked. But the band leaders quickly found the bill and reported the matter to the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, musician Rico Blanco appears to have been a victim of the hacks. While there has been no official statement from the artist yet, Redditors have reported that the musician's account, which has over 700,000 followers, has been hacked.

The account is currently banned on YouTube for violating the forum guidelines.
