Polygon zkEVM has been reduced due to blockchain series problems
Ethereum scaling protocol Polygon has announced that the Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) is currently experiencing delays due to issues with the blockchain chain.
In a post on X, Polygon confirmed to its two million followers that the issue is limited to zkEVM and does not affect any chain that is built using Polygon's Chain Development Kit (CDK).
“This only affects Polygon zkEVM (which is the only package) and does not affect Polygon POS, Polygon CDK, or any chain deployed using Polygon CDK.”
Polygon explained that the problem stems from the blockchain sequencer, which is responsible for organizing and merging transactions into batches before transferring them to Polygon's zkEVM smart contract on the Ethereum main network.
The blockchain platform said it was working to fully resolve the issue and promised to issue a comprehensive “post-mortem” statement once the issue is resolved.
Many X users have been speculating as to why the crypto community has remained silent regarding the unexpected extended network downtime.
User 0xngmias on X asked his 101,900 followers, “Why isn't anyone talking about Polygon Zkevm being down for 10 hours and still down?”
Another user, who goes by the username mirza.eng, asked his 14,800 followers why “Polygon zkEVM has been missing for over 10 hours and no one has said anything.”

This comes a month after Solana's network suffered a major outage.
In the year Since January 2022, Solana has seen nearly half a dozen significant outages.
In the year In March 2023, Polygon launched zkEVM into mainnet beta to enable developers to deploy smart contracts with increased and lower costs.
After its release, Cointelegraph reported that Ethereum's mainnet mimicked the transaction execution environment.
Polygon's open source zkEVM enables decentralized applications (DApps) to scale with transaction volume, unlocking higher performance.
