President Biden's campaign team is hiring a diary.


President Joe Biden's re-election campaign team is looking for a meme expert in an effort to win over Gen Z voters.

The successful candidate for the Biden for President (BFP) campaign posted a job opening for a “partner manager” responsible for launching and managing the “day-to-day operations of engaging the Internet's top content and meme sites.”

The Biden campaign pays a Wilmington, Delaware-based meme manager between $65,000 and $85,000 a year.

According to the job description, Biden's main role as a memer is to manage relationships with digital media companies, podcasters and “memes on multiple social media platforms.”

Biden's team has done memes before, with his campaign in 2015. In early 2022, he adopted the “Dark Brandon” laser eye meme in an attempt to cast the 81-year-old as an Internet sage.

In February, Biden was asked about the dark Brandon meme by Seth Meyers on The Late Night Show. “I'm mad about it,” he replied before donning a pair of black aviators.

Biden wore sunglasses again and mentioned the man to cheers from the audience at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in April.

The move appears to be the latest attempt by an aging US president to woo the younger generation.

Many Democrats appear to have changed their stance on crypto after presidential candidate Donald Trump advocated for them in an apparent bid to gain votes.

On the other side of the political spectrum, Trump is no stranger to memes. In the year In August 2023, his mugshot went viral after his fourth arraignment at the Fulton County Jail.

The campaign team jumped at the chance and immediately began selling t-shirts, mugs and merchandise with the image, and in December dropped a set of “MugShot” non-vulnerable tokens (NFT).

In early May, the Trump-themed MAGA memecoin rallied after his pro-crypto comments.
