Pro-Crito Vivek Ramaswamy Drops Out of US Presidential Race



Pro-crypto Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has dropped out of the United States presidential race, effectively ending his nearly one-year campaign.

At a January 16 press conference in Des Moines, Ramaswamy told his followers that he would no longer be running for president, saying, “From now on, we will end this presidential campaign.”

“There's no way I'm going to be the next president without the things we don't want happening in this country.”

Ramaswamy added, “He should be America's No. 1 candidate in this race,” adding that he would throw his weight behind Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

“Going forward, I have my full support for the presidency. We did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to deliver tonight.”

Ramaswamy emerged as a relatively unknown candidate on the presidential campaign circuit, but quickly gained a following from the crypto community for his outspoken policy ideas regarding Bitcoin and other digital assets.

Notably, Ramaswamy was the only presidential candidate to introduce a crypto policy framework. In the year On November 16, he unveiled his “The Three Freedoms of Crypto” framework, which promises to keep crypto developers from being held accountable for those who use their code.

He also said the policy outline would provide clear regulatory guidelines for new cryptocurrencies and prevent any federal agency from creating regulations that would restrict the use of self-hosted wallets.

On December 6, Ramaswamy came down hard on the SEC and its chairman Gary Gensler for failing to follow crypto regulation. Gensler added that it is “nothing but embarrassing” that Ethereum's currency could not be considered a commodity before Congress.

Members of the crypto community were quick to pay their respects to the former candidate, along with Nick Carter, general partner at Castle Island Ventures, who testified that Ramaswamy is “the most talented” Republican candidate in a generation.
