Ripple President Monica Long has reiterated that the company is under no pressure to go public following a $500 million raise that has raised its valuation to $40 billion.
Speaking on Bloomberg Crypto this week, Long said a strong balance sheet and access to private capital will eliminate the need for public-market liquidity.
“At this point, we still plan to go private,” Ripple said when asked if it would reconsider its IPO position, considering the prospect of attracting large institutional investors and making returns.
Ripple has long confirmed that it will use the capital raised to acquire four companies by 2025. The company is now focused on integrating those businesses.
“It stands alone between the strength of our balance sheet, which we've been able to leverage to make these acquisitions alongside strategic interests like Citadel and Fortress. We're in a really healthy position to fund and invest in the growth of our company without going public,” she added.
Asked about diversifying since most of Ripple's value is tied to XRP, Long said the company is prioritizing product development by bridging traditional finance and digital assets.
She said Ripple's focus on compliance, retention solutions and regulatory on- and off-ramps is designed to support real-world adoption by commercial and financial institutions.
“You need a host of different elements like secure digital asset protection, compliant on-ramps and off-ramps,” Long said. “A big part of our strategy is first and foremost compliance. So we've got a book of 70-plus licenses to streamline the flow for our customers…that's where we've focused on bringing all of that together for our customers.”
While describing Ripple's fundraising words for a long time, “very, very positive, very suitable for Ripple”, investors are attracted to the company's digital asset infrastructure, infrastructure for financial institutions and the development of statcoin payments.
