Sam Bankman-Fried had ambitions to be president of the United States, says Carolyn Ellison.
Former FTX CEO Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried had ambitions to be president of the United States, his ex-girlfriend and business partner Caroline Ellison said.
Ellison, who appeared in court on October 10 to testify against Bankman Fried, said that the former CEO of FTX wants to be the president of the United States in the future. The announcement follows the end of their personal relationship, with the two continuing to work together in their respective leadership roles at Alameda Research and FTX until November 2022.
Ellison said she committed fraud at Bankman Fried's direction while in Alameda, saying he “set up the systems” and siphoned nearly $14 billion of hedge funds from the exchange. Her testimony on the fifth day of the SBF criminal trial was part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
This is a developing story, and more information will be added as it becomes available.
