Since Binance offers its own ZK token airdrop, ZkSync prevents Sybil actions
Ethereum's zero-knowledge layer-2 scaling platform zkSync continues to fend off criticism over the climate requirements of the zkSync (ZK) token, which is set to launch on June 17.
In a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document updated on June 15, ZK Nation answered 15 questions about why certain teams were eligible to receive tokens.
One of his long-term responses focused on detection and countermeasures for Sybil attacks, where an entity creates and uses multiple wallets to deploy an airdrop. This has been an ongoing pain point among aviators recently.
ZkSync reiterated that it used “transparent” Sybil detection in addition to a “special weather pattern” to ensure that a large number of organic users were rewarded, but said that this caused some Sybil wallets to leak.
He explained that some sybils may use sophisticated algorithms that are indistinguishable from real people.
“They fund accounts from different exchange addresses, never interact with each other, use arbitrary amounts and use software to arbitrarily manipulate human behavior, and even perform tasks specific to the project (for example, using zkSync payers),” he explained.
“Most such bots are completely undetectable, even if they have very advanced anti-cybil mechanisms.”
ZkSync says that being too aggressive with filtering can remove some sibilants but falsely flag many organic users, so it chooses to combine value balancing and multiplication to give organic users a “higher chance.”
Essentially, this assigned qualification indicates wallets with low funding (signaling Sybil's behavior) but will be given an incentive to multiply if there is an onchain behavior indicative of human behavior.
ZkSync Sybils creates multiple accounts but uses a small amount of crypto to make each account capital efficient.

“Real people, on the other hand, concentrate most of their wealth in a few accounts, making their balances much larger compared to bots,” he explained.
“There are sibyls in every drop of air,” he concluded. But for every identifiable example of a sibyl, there are hundreds that are not included.
Binance offers a list and distribution of ZK among “continuing risks”.
It comes as crypto exchange Binance launched its own ZK airdrop on June 17, aimed at those who didn't qualify for the official airdrop.
The exchange said it will offer 10.5 million ZK tokens to Binance's more than 52,000 users “in light of current community concerns surrounding ZK token distribution.”

Eligible Claiming addresses must initiate at least 50 transactions in the zkSync Era between February 2023 and March 2024, conduct transactions in at least seven months during that period, not be a centralized exchange, bridge or contract address and have not been eligible for this. Official Airdrop.
However, each Binance user will only be given 200 ZK each.
The exchange will open the ZK token for trading from June 17, including trading pairs with Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT) and First Digital USD (FDUSD).
The ZK token airdrop will start on June 17. According to Whales Pro, the ZK token is trading at $0.36 in the pre-market.
