A crypto trader tried to exchange $24k in USDT.

According to official police accounts, the teenager was attacked when the businessman tried to exchange 32,000 Singapore dollars ($24,000) for the USDT stablecoin. ZK agreed to an offline peer-to-peer exchange, agreeing to meet Benedict Ye Hong Fai, 29.

But while the first place to exchange face-to-face was in a public mall, Yee changed it at the last minute. The new location was a parking lot near the mall. Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested after allegedly punching Zedke and trying to rob him.

ZK fled to the mall and escaped with the money.

According to police records, the incident took place on August 29. The three suspects were arrested between August 30 and September 3.

Yee is accused of masterminding the attempted robbery and will be remanded in custody until September 12, The Street Times said, adding that the other two suspects have not yet been formally charged and are assisting with police investigations.
