Pre-order customers of Solana's “Chapter 2” smartphone are realizing the benefits ahead of the phone's expected 2025 unveiling, thanks to Cat-powered token airdrops.
The teams behind Solana meme coins, Maneki (MANEKI) and Cat in the World of Dogs (MEW) have downloaded the tokens to the wallets of those who pre-ordered Chapter 2 – tokens that can cover the total price of the phone at $450.
On April 1, 37,600 MEW were dropped into eligible Solana wallets. On Wednesday, 5,199 MANEKI were sent to the same wallet – and the price of MANEKI increased the previous day. MANEKI reached its highest level on Thursday, rising 71.6% to $0.02 on the news of the airport. MEW rose $0.009 on March 31st. Currently, the cat-themed token is down 10.4 percent.
The total value of the two meme coins issued to each buyer on Thursday morning was $459 — higher than the original price announced by the device in January. According to CoinGecko pricing data, the MEW and MANEKI tokens offered for pre-order wallets are valued at $359 as of this writing.

Solana Phase 2 buyers received 114,858,914.9661 Wuffi (WUF) tokens at around $24.76. 800,000 iq50 (IQ50) tokens at around $16.29; And 20 million Catwifhat (CWIF) tokens are worth around $4.96. That adds up to a total of about $46, bringing the grand total to over $405.
In January, Solana Labs announced Saga Chapter 2 after the original Solana Saga sold out due to the growing value of included perks including airdrops and free NFTs.
While Season 2's recent airdrops have been cat-themed, it was the dog-centric parody that drove the original Saga's sales. BONK, the dog-themed meme coin, offered 30 million tokens to every buyer of Saga – and around December, the coin gained so much value that the airdrop was valued at more than the phone's value.
The flurry of sales has prompted other Solana projects to offer free tokens and NFTs to Saga owners, fueling even more interest in Solana Labs' smartphone efforts and fueling demand for Chapter 2.
