Solana Network ‘Nowhere to Expect’ – Solana Foundation exec
The Solana Project's goal is to build the world's fastest open, permissionless and decentralized network — but that goal is still a long way off, said Solana Foundation Chief Strategy Officer Austin Federa.
“In terms of user experience, the network is nowhere near what we hope and expect,” Federa told Cointelegraph in an interview on the sidelines of Paris Blockchain Week.
According to the feds, the congestion caused by Solana was the result of his success, which led to an unexpectedly high level of activity on the network.
“The success of this philanthropic vision is that Solana's block space is in high demand,” he said, adding that Solana is handling more transactions per second than Ethereum's Layer 1 and Layer 2 combined.
On the other hand, Solana's developers should have been able to anticipate the amount of demand on the network by implementing the necessary improvements in time.
“These things don't line up between what Solana's needs look like when this thing needs to be improved and fixed,” Federa explained.
