Someone Created 'Diablo Iii' In The Middle Of An Airdrop Campaign In The Nft Game 'Nifty Island'

Diablo is coming to NFT game Nifty Island – but not officially. All this is thanks to an AI game developer known for adding and modeling terrain based on the popular dungeon crawler “Diablo III”.

A longtime fan of the Diablo franchise, Nameless Island creator Dave says he was drawn to Nifty Island because of its ability to constantly expand his creations. Nifty Island just launched its open beta last week with an air-to-air campaign, enticing players to jump in.

“Diablo III is my favorite game, so remaking it is a tribute to nostalgia, and I'm sure many other people will enjoy it,” Dave told Decrypt. “I saw other people making Halo and Duty maps, so I jumped at the idea.”

The Nifty Island Project is Dave's latest foray into virtual worlds. He is the creative force behind the still-in-progress “To Auris” story that uses artificial intelligence tools to create character and landscape designs.

“It's a story that I've worked towards all my life but never been able to create,” said Dave. “AI image, video, audio etc [tools have] He let me.”

Nifty Island is a 3D social game where players design islands, complete missions and earn NFT rewards. Nifty Island offers cross-chain integration including Ethereum, Polygon and Base. Nifty Island quickly gained popularity for its free content and expansive maps, not including the upcoming airdrop.

Looking to create a unique island that houses nifty island tools and images, Dave says some of the features visitors can expect include an island walking race that “tours” the entire landscape, filming the flag game in the main town square, and a spy hunt feature for users. Not included in player-versus-player (PvP) modes.

It took more than 20 hours to complete the process of creating the world of Diablo III, but the creator of the gamer-turned-metaverse says the project is almost complete.

“At the end of the weekend, I usually do. I'm about 20 o'clock, and I'm working on the next one right now,” he said. “The fun part is building and adding to my island so I can sew and sew.”

Launched by Blizzard Entertainment in 1997, the Diablo franchise tells the story of High Heavens, Burning Hell, and Sanctuary. The final installment, Diablo IV, debuted last June.

While copyright and intellectual property remain a big key issue in the gaming and generative AI industry, when Dev designed his Nifty Island project around Diablo 3, he emphasized that the project was more about creating a vibe than copying Blizzard's actual intellectual property.

“It's fan-made art; I didn't take any 3D assets from Blizzard without permission,” said Dave. “Just Diablo-inspired lore and themes.”
