Sonic Launch to Propel Fantom to 2,000 transactions per second
Fantom is set to introduce Sonic. This is a platform designed to increase transaction processing capabilities to 2,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-second completion.
This development is a significant achievement of 200 TPS over the current Opera network capacity. Slated for release in late summer or early fall of this year, Sonic represents a major step in the Phantom's evolution.
Phantom Sonic Power 2,000 TPS
Introduced by Phantom in December 2019, the Opera network has been praised for establishing a permissionless DAG-based protocol using technologies such as Concurrent Common Knowledge (CCK) and Lamport Timestamps. This startup offers a faster and more scalable option that surpasses Ethereum's current capabilities.
In the year By 2022, Opera's growth is expected to exceed $10 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL) and has demonstrated its success and widespread adoption. Despite its successes, the Phantom Opera network has faced challenges, particularly during peak periods, when congestion affects the user experience.
Sonic aims to address these issues, offering a solution that promises to increase transaction speeds and improve phantom infrastructure for Layer 1 and Layer 2 chains.
“Sonic will be used to process more than 180 million daily transactions with real-time, sub-second confirmation times and launch Phantom as a fully-fledged new best-in-class shared blockchain for L1 and L2 chains,” said Michael Kong, CEO of the Phantom Foundation. .
Phantom's strategy includes management proposals focused on bridging and security improvements, with particular emphasis on a trusted bridge with Ethereum. This proposal seeks to decentralize and secure transactions by reducing fees and deadlines. Additionally, the plan outlines a change in protocols to facilitate wider participation in decentralized finance (DeFi).
