Starknet Foundation Launched A $5 Million Grant Program

The StarkNet Foundation has announced a new grant program with $5 million USD for projects on the network.

The new $5 million seed donation program aims to support at least 200 promising teams and will award $25,000 in USD Coin (USDC) to award recipients, providing a “final push” to help launch late-stage projects on StarNet, an Ethereum layer-2 scale solution based on zero-knowledge packet technology. .

The $5 million grant program comes in response to the core challenges of current Starknet developers, said Diego Oliva, CEO of the Starknet Foundation. Oliva told Cointelegraph:

“We've been listening carefully to the devs. [developers] And hear about the main problems they face. We're talking about people with incredible creativity and vision who need support in that very difficult ‘last mile' to take a project off the grid and into production. Therefore, we have responded with this program, which is intended to solve this problem directly and with minimal bureaucracy.

The grant targets Starknet-related projects that have already created a mini-viable product (MVP) or proof-of-concept. According to Oliva, the main goal is to further develop blockchain innovation. He added:

“In general, we want to reduce the obstacles and burdens that young groups face when they think about starting a project. We are trying to clear the path to innovation.

When asked about the most exciting projects and protocol categories being built on Starknet, Oliva said that the blockchain game is a high use case. He told Cointelegraph.

“StarkNet is a pioneer in blockchain-based gaming. Key projects in this area include Realms, Impact and Dojo. This sector is growing rapidly, with many teams building on Starknet using the Dojo standard. Gaming is not only for players, but for everyone because it is interesting on the network, it tests its capabilities and shows its power.
