Starknet Alpha v0.13.0 is expected to focus on two aspects of the protocol. Mainly, the update is meant to add the new transaction version v3, features like STRK's blockchain platform gas token support. V3 seeks to bring reduced transaction fees to the mainnet.
v0.13.0 was deployed to the Goerli and Sepolia testnets on December 12 and 13, 2023, respectively.
The excitement of the Starknet community increased after the project confirmed that the STRK airdrop would take place in early 2024. The project announced a 50 million STRK reward program for ecosystem contributions in October. In December, it said it would allocate 10% of network fees to developers.
