Stephen Chow NFTs Cover 10K ETH As Community Expands In Trade Size
Hong Kong director Stephen Chow, best known for the classic film Kung Fu Hustle, launched a nonfungible token (NFT) collection for his profile picture “Nobody” earlier this month. At the time of publication, the group saw 2,713 Ether (ETH) trading over 9,695 Ether ($23 million) per day.
That same day, Chow changed his profile picture on X and Instagram to a nobody's avatar and wrote: [Nobody] Community events? I'm new here, so I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice!” The director encouraged his followers to change their profile pictures to anyone. Regarding the future plans for the Nobody Collection, the developers wrote:
“We promise to build anyone's IP. [intellectual property]Nobody's original creator, Mr. Stephen Chow, combines past successful experience and innovative methods to bring Nobody's IP to the public with good works and break the barriers that previously prevented Web3 native IP from entering the mainstream Web2 market.
On January 10, Chow partnered with cryptocurrency exchange OKX to create a Nobody NFT token offering. More than 125,000 users participated in the airdrop, with 2,500 NFTs no one came forward to grab. Each person's total supply is limited to 10,000.
According to the developers, none of the collective owners can participate in the development of the project and gain many privileges, including but not limited to proposals, co-creation, voting and no one's IP. [Intellectual Property] creation”
The stock was first announced on December 6, 2023, when Chow shared with Chinese-American rapper Jin Au-Yung, also known as MC Jin, that anyone could help create NFTs. The stock was released on the platform of Moonbox, a Hong Kong-based artificial intelligence (AI) and Web3 startup that aims to launch AI-powered NFTs focused on the art and film industry. Chow is the first content creator on the platform. In August 2023, Moonbox closed a $2.5 million funding round at a $50-million valuation led by OKX Ventures.
