A few weeks before the token launch and airing, the developers of the popular Telegram tap-to-get battle game MemeFi have announced their switch to the Sui network, along with other details surrounding the upcoming token launch.
MemeFi was previously built on Ethereum's layer-2 scaling network Linea, but the team said Friday that the game's token will launch on the Layer-1 network Sui instead. The developers have been collaborating with Sui Network creator Myston Labs on strategic initiatives around the startup, including marketing efforts and plans to showcase the broader Sui ecosystem.
“MemeFi helps Sui integrate into Telegram (and the plans are huge!)” reads Telegram's post. “In-app features and an airdrop campaign will help you get comfortable with Sui – you'll see for yourself how fast, cheap and smooth it is.”
Major Telegram crypto games like NotCoin, Hamster Combat, and Katizen launched their tokens on the open network (TON) that the messaging team first created in-house before community developers took over. But MemeFi has taken a different path, and will continue to do so even through this transition.
Following the network change, the MEMEFI token launch is now scheduled for November 12th, the chain claims. MemeFi previously planned to launch the token on October 9, but the announced date came and went amid behind-the-scenes activity.
MemeFi will take a final snapshot of player activity on November 6th to determine how tokens will be distributed in the airdrop. The developers will share the final allocation on November 8th, but players are now being allowed to “pre-check” their allocation based on partial data from OKX Wallet.
Alongside the migration announcement and airdrop listings, OKX also announced the launch of pre-market trading for the MEMEFI token on its futures platform, allowing traders to bet on the final price of the Sui token.
