Teorik Launches Testnet For Blockchain-Based Ai Agent Network

Decentralized artificial intelligence and Web3 company Theorik announced the launch of its testnet on August 8.

According to the announcement, the startup is a first-of-its-kind blockchain-based network for AI agents – autonomous systems that perform specific tasks.

As Cointelegraph recently reported, Theoriq was accepted into the Google Cloud startup program on August 19. As part of the program, the company has partnered with Google Cloud Services and Infrastructure for the development of the protocol.

Agents of the agency are available as part of a larger blockchain-based ecosystem, combining as a team to perform high-level tasks and execute simultaneous actions across multiple domains.

Theorik CEO and co-founder Ron Bodkin told Cointelegraph that the company's mainnet was slated to launch later this year.

“Users can also maintain open source protocol basics and comprehensive security auditing,” he said. “We also offer developer grants to support innovation on the platform.”

In the meantime, the organization will use the Testnet standard to further develop its “agents.”

Bodkin's company's agents are designed to interact with the real world to plan, access information, use tools, make decisions, and perform specific tasks:

“We strongly believe that specialized agents known as teams are superior to general purpose single agents that work together as a team to tackle increasingly complex tasks. These agencies may specialize in tasks or tools such as analyzing social data, querying and obtaining transactional data, coding, and visualization, allowing them to leverage each other's outputs toward a common goal.

Bodkin gave the example of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure (DePIN) providers using agents to communicate with smart contracts, manage assets and make micropayments. He says this will greatly enhance automation in Web3 and beyond.

“At this agency level,” Bodkin said. “Our AI agents are poised to change how we interact with technology. We're entering the agentic era.”
