USDT stablecoin provider Tether announced in a blog post on Monday that it has banned 32 addresses linked to terrorism and war in Israel and Ukraine.

The company has confirmed that it is working with Israel's National Counter-Terrorism Financing Task Force (NBCTF) to fight cryptocurrency-funded terrorism and war.

Freezing the addresses means wallet users cannot send USDT until the freeze is lifted. According to Tether, the 32 wallets held $873,118 in USDT. Teter added.

“To date, Tether has assisted 31 agencies around the world in investigations in 19 jurisdictions, totaling $835 million in assets related to theft (blockchain and exchange hacking) and other crimes.

The company added that it has partnered with countries including the United States, Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines, Germany, South Korea, Norway, Canada, Israel, India, the United Kingdom and Ukraine to fight terrorism and war financing.

As Tether CEO Paolo Arduino pointed out,

“Teter is committed to promoting the responsible use of blockchain technology and standing as a strong defense against cybercrime. We look forward to continued cooperation with international law enforcement agencies as part of our commitment to global security and financial integrity.”

This latest piece of cryptocurrency intelligence news comes a week after Israeli police seized crypto wallets linked to Hamas after a surprise attack on the terrorist organization quickly turned into a war.
