This is what we're getting from the first set of games expected to launch next year, featuring sequels and original titles, from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to Star Wars Outlaws and much more in between.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Release date: January 11, 2024

Ubisoft's legendary action franchise is finally back in action with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, combining old-school, side-scrolling entries with modern 3D games – with Metroid-style exploration thrown in for good measure. . The end result seems to be a renaissance of the series and an adventure to sink your teeth into.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

After developing the popular Batman: Arkham game trilogy, Rocksteady Studios is making an even bigger, open-world Justice League game. Skull and bones

Release Date: February 16, 2024

Skull & Bones was announced in 2017 and has been in development for ten years as of this writing, so you'd be forgiven for doubting the chances of a release date. But Ubisoft is recently waving the flag for this epic Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, with naval battles, customizable ships, and online showdowns among other factions. Cross your fingers.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Release Date: February 29, 2024

Sometimes it's a mistake to screw up all-time classics, but 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake does a fantastic job of reinterpreting the influential PSone role-playing gem. However, that was only a snippet of the story: the remake stretched one episode from the original game into a full adventure on its own, then teased two more entries in the following years. The second, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is due out in February, bringing more of the game's iconic world into the 4K era.

Princess Peach Showtime

Release date: March 22, 2024

The smart money says we will. Nintendo Switch 2 (or whatever it's called) at the end of 2024, but Nintendo still has a few interesting games for the original device. Princess Peach gives her starring role as a hero who transforms into different roles to save Mario's friend in various theatrical plays during the show. Detective Peach? Swordfighter Peach? We really need a patisserie peach, thank you very much.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Release date: Q1 2024

Hades is one of the most beloved games of the last few years, approaching the tough-as-nails roguelike genre, but with a beautiful presentation and sharp storytelling. It's no surprise that Supergiant Games' Hades II is one of the most anticipated games of 2024, with an already accessible PC version set to debut in Q2 before finally being released on consoles. It seems to have a similar vibe, but we're not complaining.

Star Wars Outlaw

Release Date: TBA 2024

Ubisoft, the company behind smash hit series like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, will take its first stab at open-world action set in a galaxy far, far away in 2024. Star Wars Outlaw. And it already looks great, with the extensive gameplay demo above showing convincing environments reminiscent of familiar beats while featuring original characters and some fresh territory.

Marvel's Wolverine

Release Date: TBA 2024

We don't know for sure if Marvel's Wolverine will drop in 2024 or later, but since Insomniac Games teased it early in 2021, we're hoping it will see the light of day. The iconic leader of the X-Men is getting his own game from the creators of the great recent Spider-Man games, and while we don't know much yet, that's reason enough to be excited. Let's hope The latest Insomniac Games studio hack It doesn't slow down progress on it.
