It was January Beautiful silence For new game releases, the usual break after the holiday yoke. But things are set to get even more exciting in February, thanks to some solid new games on the way.
From Rocksteady Games' “Suicide Squad” comics (following three Batman games) to Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth– and little in between – there's little worth playing in February. This is where we want to get our hands on.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (February 2)
After creating three excellent Batman games, Rocksteady Games has spent the last several years building a unique DC Comics action relationship with Suicide Squad. And we're just days away from finding out if it was all worth it.
The Suicide Squad game finds a team of iconic anti-heroes battling the likes of Batman, Superman and The Flash, all brainwashed into deadly attacks. Early reactions to the game have been mixed compared to a live-action online game such as the mid-range Marvel's Avengers. But Rocksteady's history is strong, so hopefully this Suicide Squad game will be another winner on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Persona 3 Reboot (February 2)
Looking for a rich role-playing adventure to dig into this February? Persona 3 Reload is a heavily remastered version of the 2006 PlayStation 2 classic, bringing the story and characters even more inspired by Persona 5 than the original entry with a modern visual punch.
It is said to stay true to the original Japanese RPG while making it more palatable to current players. Additionally, it will be available through Xbox Game Pass from day one. Persona 3 Reload is releasing across PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
Foamstars (February 6)
PlayStation gamers won't be enjoying Nintendo's incredibly attractive Splatoon games – they're basically team-based shooters, but with color – but maybe Square Enix's new IP Foamstars will do the trick instead.
Released exclusively on PlayStation 4 and 5, Foamstars is a 4v4 online shooter in which you use weapons that blast colorful foam liquids as you blast away enemies, filling each level and even creating new terrain for your use. It's just as stylish, and on top of that, it's completely free to download and keep for PlayStation Plus subscribers between February 6th and March 4th. After that, the price is $30.
Skull and Bones (February 16)
For a long time, it seemed unlikely that we would find Skull and Bones. After all, Ubisoft announced the game back in 2017 and it has been delayed several times since then.
But now, this pirate simulation game, which was released ten years ago from the famous Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, is being released in a few weeks. There's even an open beta test before then. It's finally happening. Hopefully, all those years of work and milestones have added up to a compelling action issue on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong (February 16)
So it might not be a Super Mario Bros. epic-sized release, but anyone looking for a compelling switch platformer-puzzler might do well to check out Mario and Donkey Kong.
It's a remake of the 20-year-old Game Boy Advance game, but don't let that put you off. This version is completely built with modern graphics, plus it looks like a handheld experience that is perfect for picking up and playing to fill the boring moments in your day. And it's a bit cheaper than some of the bigger Switch games at $50.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (February 29)
A sequel to 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix's FFVII Reborn It's the middle chapter of the publisher's modern re-imagining of the PlayStation role-playing classic.
You'll obviously want to play the Remake first, but if you're primed and ready, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth seems like a meatier quest than the previous chapter, as the adventure actually unfolds in a less linear fashion at this point. the story. It's exclusive to PlayStation 5 for now, although we can expect a PC version at some point, as a Remake. The trailer above suggests a three-month exclusivity window, so the PC release could be delayed.
