The founder of Cardano proposed the integration of Bitcoin Cash in X poll

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently posted a “speculative comment” on the X social media platform, asking the crypto community if they would be interested in seeing the integration of Cardano and Bitcoin Cash.

The poll received more than 12,000 votes in the first 24 hours with an early majority of 66.3% saying “yes”.

“Would you like to see Bitcoin Cash become Cardano's Partnerchain with proof-of-concept improved by Leos, Nepopows and Ergo technology, making it the fastest and most efficient proof-of-work chain ever built?”

As mentioned above, Hoskinson labeled the poll as a hypothesis. However, as Elon Musk has shown since his purchase of the X platform, formerly Twitter, the platform can be used as a guiding point for decision-making.

Ben Schray, founder and CTO of blockchain firm Biggest Lab, commented in support of the move. “

While the community seems to be supportive of the idea of Bitcoin Cash and Cardano merging, how such a partnership would come about and work is a bit murky.

On the technology side, Hoskinson used the term “partnerchain.” This seems to indicate that Bitcoin Cash will need to cross a bridge or chain in some way to work with the proposed improvements.

There is still a need for communication between stakeholders and developers, assuming that both development teams can reach an agreement on the technical aspects of the partnership.

Hoskinson's speech on social media comes as Cardano prepares for two “major updates” this year. As Cointelegraph recently reported, the company is preparing for a “Chang” hardfork, which is planned for sometime in the second quarter of 2024, as well as a new staking model called “Ouroboros Leos”.

The pending updates were praised by Hoskinson in his response to a video posted on April 7 by crypto influencer Ben “Bitboy” Armstrong. In the video, Armstrong calls Cardano “dead”.
