The London Stock Exchange is looking for a Director of Digital Assets
The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) of the London Stock Exchange and other fintech companies has posted on LinkedIn that it is looking for a Director of Digital Assets.
LSEG said it is looking for candidates with a “interest in and understanding of digital assets, cryptocurrencies and distributed ledger technology,” among other skills and requirements.
According to the post, LSEG's future digital asset manager will help outline and deploy the company's business strategy “for a new set of infrastructure solutions and capabilities, as well as developing the LSEG brand and ecosystem in digital private markets.”
A representative of LSEG told Cointelegraph that they could not provide any further details about the development at the time.

The post comes after the London Stock Exchange announced it will create a traditional asset trading platform using blockchain technology. On September 4, Legacy said the financial institution plans to use the technology to increase the efficiency of holding, buying and selling traditional assets.
However, LSE Group Head of Capital Markets Murray Ross said at the time that nothing was being built on cryptocurrencies.
The United Kingdom has been taking action on the local crypto scene after it passed a bill that would allow authorities to seize Bitcoin (BTC) used for crime and announced plans for stablecoin regulations to come in October.
In September, the UK financial regulator issued a trading compliance warning to crypto companies and a January 2024 deadline to comply with the standards.
