Market intelligence platform Santiment has revealed a handful of crypto assets that are currently trending due to multiple mentions on social media. According to analysts at the firm, these include Bitcoin (BTC), Chiles (CHZ) and Nubuck (NUB).

BTC, CHZ and NUB trending topics on social media focus on trading activities, price volatility, recent airdrops and controversies. In particular, market participants describe feelings of cruelty and depression to them.

Controversies surrounding Bitcoin

BTC is the most trending cryptocurrency based on the frequency of mentions on social media. The cryptocurrency has been the subject of many predictions regarding future price movements, especially with known macroeconomic conditions currently in play.

The upcoming US presidential election and the potential for a large BTC sale by the US government in the coming weeks have drawn both positive and negative feedback on bitcoin price action and volatility. Analysts are discussing support levels and warning that BTC may drop to critical regions, resulting in further declines.

There are bullish posts about bitcoin's significant price appreciation compared to traditional stocks and fiat, and its role in the broader financial ecosystem.

In addition, the HBO Bitcoin documentary “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery,” which claims to have identified the anonymous creator of the network, Satoshi Nakamoto, has sparked debate and controversy and fueled discussions about BTC on social media.

The documentary cites former Bitcoin developer Peter Todd as the creator of the network. However, he denied the claims, saying he was not Nakamoto, an early Bitcoin contributor.

Meanwhile, NUB, a cat-themed meme coin on the Solana network, is primarily associated with positive predictions and community engagement. The token has increased by more than 100% in the last seven days and at the time of writing, the price was $0.031.
