This Week In Crypto Games: 'Off The Grid' Launches, 'X Empire' Airdrop Date, Tap To Earn Tiktok

The crypto and NFT gaming space has been busy lately, with popular games starting to release, token airdrops piling up, and other things that seem to be happening all the time. There is a lot to enter!

Fortunately, Decrypt GG is all over it. And if you need a quick way to catch up on the latest activity around crypto video games, we're happy to feature this week in Crypto Games.

Our weekend roundup features the biggest news from the past week, along with a few other news you may have missed. We'll also feature a few of our top stories of the week.

The big news

Off the Grid: One of the most anticipated blockchain games entered early access last Tuesday. Avalanche-based Off the Grid is now available to play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as on PC via the Epic Games Store.

Developed by Gunzilla Games, its own Avalanche L1 (then Subnet) called GUNZ, the game is a battle royale shooter that throws players into a reality show-like experience where they must fight for survival in an online multiplayer. Matches Players equip robot arms and switch them during matches to gain new abilities, plus the game finally launches GUN tokens and NFTs for players to trade.

The launch of Early Access has made a big impact, in part due to a promotional campaign featuring several popular streams. Off the Grid seems to be catching up with the major players as blockchain games have never been before, with the game now available on the free-to-play chart from the Epic Games Store.

X Empire airdrop: Telegram crypto game developers X Empire announced last week that the X token will launch on the Open Network (TON) on October 24, with the current “cooling off” period ending before tokenizing the game on October 17. Launch and take off.

X Empire has already finished the “mining phase”, but delayed the airdrop and started the cold phase to fill time. Since then, the game has topped the 50 million player mark.

Tap TikTok to find it: After ending this summer with shock hits like Hamster Kombat, Notcoin and XEmpire, the genre is expanding on Gen Z's favorite social media app, TikTok. SonicX, Sonic SVM, created by the team behind the Solana Layer-2 gaming network, is a tap-to-find game that debuted in Tiki Tok. The game plans to partner with content creators and run ads on TikTok that users click to unlock SonicX.

The game follows the same premise as other games in the last tap-getting genre. Players furiously tap their screens to collect rings, buy in-game upgrades, and invite friends to jump the ranks — all in the airdrop promise of an as-yet-unconfirmed future.

Ubisoft NFT Game Date: Gaming giant Ubisoft announced Thursday that Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, its first original blockchain game, will be released on October 23. Tactical PC role-playing game launches on Oasis Home Verse Gaming Network.

Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles allows players to assemble squads of “Champions” – digital collectives with unique abilities – to engage in multiplayer battles in a dark fantasy setting. The game features 75,000 champion characters and includes a crafting system called The Forge where players can combine existing champions to create new ones with different attributes.
