Ton 68 has partnered with Acceler to connect the blockchain to the Web3 ecosystem.

The Open Network Foundation has chosen Acceler's Mobius Development Stack (MDS) as its core platform to connect the Open Network (TON) ecosystem with 68 blockchain networks.

The integration is expected to increase the proliferation and usability of decentralized applications in the TON blockchain ecosystem, as well as improve connectivity across Web3 platforms.

Antony Tsivarev, director of ecosystem development at the Ton Foundation, said in a press release that Axlar was the “best choice” because of its “open and developer-friendly stack.”

Ton Foundation chooses the Axelar partnership

The partnership follows an evaluation of Acceler MDS cross-chain flexibility platforms chosen for its security, ease of integration and flexibility.

Central to this collaboration is Acceler's interchain amplifier technology, which allows developers on the TON blockchain to connect and interact with other blockchain networks.

Acceler's MDS enables the Ton blockchain and other major networks – including Ethereum, Cosmos and Polkadot – to transfer assets and data seamlessly.

Cross-chain communication benefits for tons of users

According to the press release, developers can build decentralized applications that work across multiple blockchains, eliminating the need to connect solutions.

Establishing a harmonizing layer helps prevent liquidity splits with assets spread over multiple bridge structures across different networks.

For tons of users, the integration will bring more Web3 options, smoother transactions and interactions without bridge requirements, and a simpler user experience.

The trend towards cross-chain is growing.

Axelar's integration with Ton is part of a larger trend in the Web3 space, where cross-chain interoperability and blockchain connectivity are becoming increasingly important.

On October 10, the Ronin network – which was previously the victim of a $625 million hack in March 2022 – achieved integration with Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).

ChainLink's CCIP integration ensures that messages on both the sending and receiving chains are valid for the Ronin Network cross-chain bridge.

Although cross-chain functionality simplifies processes by reducing the need for complex bridging solutions, transaction security is a top priority for networks pursuing these integrations.
