Following the assassination attempt, Trump spokesman Steven Cheng confirmed that Trump was “in good condition” and was being investigated. Trump took to his Truth social page to thank the US Secret Service and all law enforcement agencies for their quick response.

“Most of all, I would like to offer my condolences to the family of the man at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person who was seriously injured. It is unbelievable that such an act is happening in our country. […] I heard a screeching sound, a gunshot, and immediately knew something was wrong because I felt the bullet crack through the skin. I realized what was happening because of the profuse bleeding. God bless America!”

The attack on Trump drew a strong response from members of the public. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has publicly expressed his support for Trump. Musk wished the former president a speedy recovery.

President Joe Biden also responded to the incident. He condemned the violence as “sickening” and expressed appreciation for Trump's swift exit.

However, it's important to note that Trump's stance on cryptocurrencies has been evolving over time. BeInCrypto reported that in July 2019, Trump publicly criticized Bitcoin and other digital currencies, calling them “not money” and highlighting their volatility. This raises questions about his sincerity and the policy changes that may follow.

In a recent blog post, Arthur Hayes, founder of crypto exchange BitMEX, offered a critical view of Trump's switch position. Hayes suggested that Trump's newfound support was politically motivated.
