Trump hints at 4th batch of NFTs, fears Chinese crypto takeover
Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he is planning to launch a fourth set of Invulnerable Tokens. He reiterated the importance of the leadership of the United States in cryptocurrency in a wide-ranging interview on Tuesday.
“I'm going to do something else because the people want me to do something else,” Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg on July 16.
“We had a year to sell it and it sold in one day,” he added. His latest NFT collection, titled “MugShot,” revolved around the theme of ongoing criminal prosecutions.
“I would say almost all of it was paid for in crypto, this new currency. And it opened my eyes,” Trump added, explaining that he wants to make sure the United States is a leader in the cryptocurrency industry.
“It's a baby. He's a baby now. But I don't want to be responsible for allowing another country to dominate this sphere, Trump said, adding that if the country ignores the issue, China will be the leader of the industry because it is “so far ahead in this sector.”
He acknowledges the shift in tone that traditional banking executives, such as the CEO of JP Morgan, have taken toward cryptocurrencies over the years.
