This is the first meeting between the two since Trump won the election and shows the president-elect's evolving stance on crypto.

At the Bitcoin conference earlier this year, Trump promised to establish a Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council focused on creating a clear regulatory framework if elected.

Armstrong also endorsed the Trump administration's nominations, endorsing SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce on X as the “best choice” to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Coinbase, under Armstrong's leadership, was a major political donor in the recent election cycle, contributing more than $100 million to various political action committees.

Most of the crypto industry-backed PAC, which invested more than $40 million in congressional candidates, went to Fairshack, according to Federal Election Commission files and OpenSecrets data.
