Trump says he’ll fire SEC chairman Gary Gensler on day one if re-elected president
The Bitcoin community was buzzing with enthusiasm, especially after Donald Trump's announcement of firing SEC Chairman Gary Gensler. “Fire Gary Gensler and I'll appoint a new SEC chairman on day one,” Trump said at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville. The moment I am sworn in, persecution will cease and arms will end against your industry. I will appoint a new SEC chairman who believes America should build the future, not the future.
The former president also said that if he is elected, he will appoint the Bitcoin and Crypto Presidential Council, who will be responsible for transparency in the sector. “We are going to have a great industry,” he added.
Trump also talked about how to control electricity supply and demand. “We build power plants, we use fossil fuels. We do it in an environmentally friendly way. If we don't, China and others will. Let's do it and do it right. If crypto is going to define the future, I want it to be developed, manufactured and operated in America.
