Tyler Winklevoss donated $500,000 to John Dayton’s campaign
Gemini and Winklevoss Capital co-founder Tyler Winklevoss announced a $500,000 donation to attorney John Deaton's Senate campaign on July 18.
In a lengthy social media thread in which the investor and entrepreneur is currently highly critical of Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts senator has been described as the “chief architect” behind the Biden administration's war on the crypto industry.
Winklevoss has endorsed President Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaign, giving top Democrat Elizabeth Warren the power to veto his gubernatorial nominees.
According to Winklevoss, this gave Warren enormous power to shape regulatory agencies and pull the strings behind the scenes, effectively making the heads of these agencies her puppets and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)'s Operation Chokepoint 2.0. “Crypto has the potential to level the financial playing field and promote financial inclusion, equity and freedom for everyone,” Winklevoss wrote before turning his attention to Warren.
“Elizabeth Warren should have embraced him. Instead, she tried to kill him. Why? Because she can't control herself, her desire for power and control is so great that she takes precedence over the individual consumer and pretends to care. About and protect.”

Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, a long-time ally of the crypto industry, recently endorsed Ian Cain as a Massachusetts senator, citing his understanding of both blockchain and current political issues.
Cain is the co-founder of Cubic Labs, which invests in technology entrepreneurs and focuses on finance and government applications. According to Cubic Labs' LinkedIn page, the company is particularly interested in using blockchain and other emerging technologies.
Ripple Labs donates $1 million to Deaton's campaign
In May 2024, Ripple Labs donated $1 million to Dayton's Senate campaign. The Senate candidate has a long history with Ripple Labs and has made a name for himself in the crypto industry by representing thousands of XRP (XRP) token holders in an ongoing lawsuit brought against Ripple Labs by the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2020.
