Uniswap is the world's largest decentralized crypto exchange, handling more than $1.7 trillion worth of transactions, according to data from Defillama. Most of the transactions are done through a web-based application. However, the team released a mobile app for iOS on April 13. Before that date, the team had complained that Apple was keeping the launch of the app in the App Store. Even after getting the green light from the App Store, Uniswap still didn't have a dedicated app for Android devices.
According to the October 12 announcement, the new Android beta app will allow users to choose coins on different chains without switching networks. A Coin will automatically detect which network it is on and switch to that network without the user asking. It can currently be used on Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and BNB Chain, with additional chain compatibility in the future.
The wallet delivers Ethereum transactions through a private pool to help avoid front-running and sandwich attacks, although this feature can be turned off if the user wishes. Additionally, it automatically detects most coins with built-in transfer fees. These fees are displayed in the interface, which makes the user aware.
