U.S. Senator Tim Scott, the top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee who may be the next chairman, argued at a meeting on Bitcoin 2024 on Friday that the government should make it easier for the crypto industry to form in the United States. He has remained relatively quiet on crypto, breaking his silence at his live crypto debut at Bitcoin 2024 Nashville, where he touted the virtues of digital assets. Speaking alongside Senator Cynthia Lammis, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler criticized him as a crypto-policy roadblock and said he needed to get rid of the people in the way.
