Wallet crypto bot is launched in Colombia, SA and Kenya on Telegram
Cryptocurrency Trading Bot Wallet on Telegram Messenger is showing its global rollout in countries in Latin America and Africa.
Open Platform (TOP), the Dubai-headquartered investment platform affiliated with TOP Labs and Wallet, has announced the global release of its Wallet crypto bot on November 10.
A third-party Telegram bot that allows Wallet users to buy and sell crypto is now available in the Telegram settings menu for users in Colombia, South Africa, and Kenya.
The Wallet crypto bot has been accessible to global users for several months, but users had to access the bot by clicking “@Wallet” on Telegram. With a recent update, users can view Wallet directly in the menu without needing to get a bot or know much about crypto to start using it.
In addition to the default custodial wallet, users can also use the wallet's self-custodial crypto solution, TonSpace. Wallet's self-sustaining sub-wallet allows users to make decentralized exchanges in the TON Space and transfer non-perishable tokens or NFTs using a self-sustaining wallet.
TOP has chosen to launch the global rollout of the Wallet in emerging markets to give users access to additional financial tools and to benefit from its significant user base in the respective regions.
“Our main focus is on markets where the lack of accessible financial tools has led to organic demand for crypto assets,” a TOP spokesperson told Cointelegraph. “We know that Telegram has an important user base in these regions, and so it was natural to launch our global rollout in these regions.” The representative added.
According to World Population Review data, Telegram will reach 4.49 million in Colombia by 2023. According to Statista data, about 50% of Internet users in Kenya and South Africa were using Telegram as of Q3 2022.
“Countries like Nigeria, Kenya and Colombia have a very active Telegram user base with relatively high crypto adoption rates,” said a TOP spokesperson.
“Regions where we plan to launch natively for all users first provide a great opportunity to onboard a large audience to Wallet. This is the start of our goal to accelerate mass market adoption of ton-based blockchain technology.”
The representative also explained that TOP prefers to take out the wallet in smaller countries before expanding the operational side of the product and the technical side of the integration. This will ensure that we can effectively balance the additional demand that will arise as the rollout continues, the spokesperson said.

Following the initial rollout in Latin America and Africa, the Wallet crypto bot is expected to launch in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Turkey in Q1 2024. Notes.
TOP CEO Andrew Rogozov said, “These strategic improvements to the Wallet and Toon space underscore our continued commitment to simplifying the crypto experience for a mainstream audience.
While Wallet allows access to Telegram's settings menu, Telegram has actively denied any connection to Wallet or TOP, insisting that Wallet operates independently of Telegram.
Rogozov, the CEO of TOP and Wallet companies, was once the CEO of VK.com, a major social media platform created by Telegram founder Pavel Durov. Rogozov left VK in January 2022 to become a founding member of the Ton Foundation. He also founded Primary Labs, which later merged with Wallet to become TOP.
