GTA and Kodi veterans have teamed up with a new studio called Unchangeable.

Web3 Gaming Ecosystem is helping immutable random games join the blockchain gaming world. The studio is founded by veteran developers and creators from popular franchises including Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Fortnite, Batman, Star Trek, The Walking Dead, Star Wars and South Park. The collaboration centers around an in-universe, Web3 sci-fi franchise that spans multiple media.

Random Games plans to create a platform that provides high-quality assets for game creation without royalty payments. The Universe community is encouraged to develop their own stories, games and content using public assets.

Given its royalty-free nature, Universe hopes to develop a series of professional and user-generated content. Users can monetize their creations by selling merchandise like comic books, t-shirts, and lunch boxes and keep all profits.

Immutable's vice president of global business development, Andrew Sorokowski, said Immutable offers its blockchain platform, tools and services, including zkEVM for e-shopping and immutable passports for digital identities.

This allows the team to focus on shipping a great game without having to become blockchain experts in the process – let us take care of the heavy lifting.

Universe features Hero NFTs, the highest quality 3D digital items you can own in the digital world. Hero NFTs started working on ‘Reyu' in January 2023 and sold 20,000 NFTs, which launched ‘Krishah' in June. With over one million NFTs in production and over 110,000 verified accounts in linked wallets, they also launched the first installment of a six-part comic book and introduced Proving Grounds, their first alpha game environment, in May.

Random Games previously raised $7.6 million in a seed funding round co-led by Resolute Ventures and Asymmetric.

Brawlers in Magic: The Gathering Creator launches on the Epic Games Store

Brawlers, a player-versus-player block chain card game, launches on the massive, flagship Epic Games Store.

It is the first game from Tyrano Studio, WAX blockchain's inhouse game development team led by game industry veteran Michael Rubinelli, who has 25 years of experience at companies such as Disney, Electronic Arts and THQ.

Centered around a pro-fighting theme, Brawlers' player-versus-player (PvP) mode was designed by Richard Garfield, famous for creating the popular card game Magic: The Gathering.

Releasing a blockchain game on EGS is a big deal for any developer because the platform has over 230 million users, including 70 million monthly active users. But releasing a blockchain game on the platform is a bigger deal because Web3 companies generally cannot reach such a large audience with such a reputation. Rubinelli, WAX's chief gaming officer, called EGS “the next step in our journey toward mass adoption of Web3.”

This launch accelerates the paradigm shift of gaming as a whole, bringing blockchain-powered fairness, inclusiveness and a player-centric approach closer to mainstream audiences.

In the game, players compete in wrestling matches and earn BRWL tokens that can be used to craft or purchase content. Aside from the Brawlers themselves, every in-game item is NFTs that can be crafted, used, sold, traded, or given away between players.

Garfield emphasized the game's similarities to traditional card games, with simple trading and exchanges where players can buy sets of cards and have full control over their assets.

The game allows cross-platform functionality via NFT bridges to Polygon, Ethereum and Binance's BNB Chain.

So far, by 2023, more than 2 billion dollars have been invested in the blockchain game

Blockchain gaming investments topped $600 million in the third quarter of 2023, making the year-to-date total an impressive $2.3 billion amid a bear market, according to DappRadar and BGA Games' latest joint blockchain gaming report.

However, the 2023 total will account for only 30 percent of last year's total investments. But considering the state of the broader market, it is a respectable person who can confirm that many people are willing to bet a lot of money that blockchain games will still be the next big thing.

The report emphasizes how Web2 game companies are “making strong moves into Web3 territory.” One of the most popular is Zynga's successful Sugartown entry from FarmVille, the creator of FarmVille, which received rapid adoption and high praise from the Web 3 community. It's a welcome development as better studios generally mean better games.

Daily Uniquely Activated Wallets (UAWs) saw a 12 percent increase compared to the previous quarter, reaching an average of 786,766 UAWs daily. Alien Worlds, a community-built metaverse, has retained the crown as Q3 2023's most played blockchain game, accounting for more than 60% of WAX's blockchain activity.

Web3 Game's flagship titles, Axie Infinity and Gods Unchained, led the way with $90 million and $55 million in revenue, respectively.

In the third quarter, Virtual Worlds posted $13 million in sales with 28,000 land sales, down from $58 million in the last quarter. While the volume of virtual worlds has been declining, major investments such as Animoka Brands' $20 million fund for Mocaverse have kept the Metaverse fire alive.

Upland's Spark shines on Ethereum.

Metaverse platform Upland enables trading of the in-game utility token Spark on Ethereum. The resolution was approved by 87.25% of voters in a recent community governance vote.

Known as the Sparklet White Paper, the proposal was presented to the Upland community in late September. The plan involves connecting the game's in-app token, Spark, to the Ethereum blockchain, where it can be mirrored and modeled as a Sparklet token. Each sparklet is equal to one thousand sparks.

Dirk Luth, founder and CEO of Upland, says the move is a victory for decentralization.

In keeping with our mission to build the largest digital open economy, Sparklet will enable us to responsibly move Uland's economy towards progressive decentralization by providing tradability to our users with mechanisms to protect and protect against unwanted externalities.

A limited supply of 1,000,000,000 Sparklet tokens will be issued on Ethereum, although Upland has not yet shared an exact timeline. The supply of Sparklet is reflected in 1,000,000 Spark on the EOS blockchain, ensuring a balanced ownership structure between platforms.

Hot Take: Guardians Association

The Guardians Guild of Mobile rogue-lite squad RPG is being developed by Miner and published by Immutable. This week he held a “Friends and Family Demo Event” for testing and I was one of the lucky people who got to try the game.

As soon as the game opens, a beautifully composed Harry Potter-esque background music welcomes you into the world of Guardians. The demo includes core dungeon battles, crafting cycles, quests and level-up options. The graphics look good, while the music and sound effects are on point.

Players gather a team of heroes and enter a dungeon to fight. When assembling a team, you must consider classifier, elemental and class combinations and team composition. For example, a team made up entirely of Hordes gets a raw attack boost, while teams of all fire elements have an increased chance of dealing damage over time. Heroes are divided into traditional RPG roles such as tank, healer, support and DPS – short for damage per second, which is used to describe damage-oriented characters.

The main challenge that Guild of Guardians needs to address is that they are somewhat mature in team-based PvP gameplay. None of the heroes feel original or new, and the user interface looks like any mobile game with a fantasy component.

Of course, it's not fair to judge such features by the “friends and family” demo, so it's best to check out the full version to see if there are improvements and improvements to form your own opinion – it'll be free to play. Anyway. Who knows, you might like it and find your next 600-hour addiction!
