Web3 creator platform 'Oh' raises $4.5M for AI-based digital influencers

Oh, and Web3's artificial intelligence-powered creator platform has raised $4.5 million in oversubscribed seed funding, the company announced.

The round includes investments from prominent crypto and AI-focused companies, including Tangent, Big Brain Holdings, Cosmos Ventures, Tagus Capital and Bodhi Ventures, according to an announcement shared with Cointelegraph.

The creator platform's flagship product — OhChat, an AI-driven “digital twin” for online creators — is approaching 100,000 users in 174 countries.

According to Oh co-founder and CEO Nick Young, the platform aims to disrupt the creator economy by combining AI's content personalization capabilities with the decentralized and censorship-resistant features of Web3.

“The power of creating agent-enabled communities built on Web3's decentralization and censorship resistance combines the ability to generate and personalize content that traditional systems simply cannot compete with. It's a game-changer for creators, consumers and investors.”

The $4.5 million funding will be used to deploy “SuperModels,” autonomous, AI-based digital creative agent capabilities designed to provide a new revenue stream for digital creators.

The announcement comes amid heightened interest in AI agents on Luna – a virtualization protocol in which an AI agent can conduct autonomous transactions with another AI agent without direct human input, Cointelegraph reported on January 2.

“SuperModels” AI agents offer a new income stream for online creators

Unlike generic chatbots, Oh aims to create autonomous AI influencers with real revenue-generating potential.

Young said some early AIA agents on the platform earned in the $10,000 range.

“Both brands are bringing in monthly revenues in the four- to five-figure range. This success came even before they stepped on X to expand reach and convert users.”

Oh's AI agents can enhance their own social media presence, interact with followers, and create personas that evolve based on social interactions.

However, Young says part of the appeal lies in the platform's celebrity integration.

“The key to their profitability is combining supermodels with internationally recognized creators and celebrities,” he said.

The platform has partnered with celebrities including Carmen Electra, Rio Sage and Kylie Thor to give their AI agents exposure to larger fans to monetize these agents, Yang added.

The platform plans to launch a utility token in the first quarter of 2025, which will be distributed on the Solana blockchain along with all of the protocol's onchain assets.

The new token offers high incentives and certified fractional ownership of the new AI agents, allowing multiple users to benefit from the development of the same AI agent.

Industry watchers predict significant growth for emerging AI cryptocurrencies.

AI agents platform ai16z and decentralized trading protocol HyperLiquid are “ready to grow in 2025,” Alvin Khan, CEO of Biget Wallet, told Cointelegraph.
