What Happens When The Cloud Meets Web3?

Cointelegraph's Hashing It Out podcast with Hui Jiang, Chief Solutions Architect of Web3 at Tencent Cloud Europe, and Fakhul Miah with Elastos talk about how crypto can leverage cloud technology. The two organizations recently announced their partnership to “accelerate the Web3 space.”

Well-known global cloud provider Tencent Cloud is actively playing on Web3 with 27 regions and several Web3-related projects. Jiang highlights his company's experience with Web3 and explains that the cloud company is looking to expand overseas after working with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other blockchain products in China.

Elastos has been building what it describes as “the next chapter of the Internet” for the past five years. Mia explains that her commitment to providing individuals with true digital sovereignty is what sets her apart from other projects.

One of the many areas where Elastos is looking to improve the Internet is identity verification. Mia explains that the most sustainable way to verify the identity of people behind accounts on the Internet is through decentralized identification and verifiable credentials because the user is in complete control. It explains that users should be allowed to go with a Know Your Customer (KYC) provider and go through the verification process independently. After this, the KYC provider issues the certificate to the user for online applications whenever required.
