When Hbo'S Satoshi Appeared On Polymarket, Nick Szabo Passed Lane Sassaman

American computer scientist Nick Szabo, now known as Satoshi Nakamoto on Polymarket, has been named the creator of Bitcoin in the upcoming HBO documentary, ahead of cryptographer Len Sasaman.

Polymarket betters put the chances of Szabo at 27.9%, the failed crypto network BitGold, as one of HBO Money Electric: The Secret of Bitcoin will name the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, then Sassaman at 14% and then Blockstream CEO Adam Back at 4.3%

Sassaman led the betting platform shortly after opening the market on October 4 with odds of up to 68%.

But the documentary's producer, Cullen Hoback, told CNN on Oct. 7 that those odds dwindled when Samaman was released in 2015. As he confronts who he thinks is the real Satoshi Nakamoto, who died in 2011.

“We make a strong case. […] And I think their response in some ways speaks volumes for the evidence.

“It's important for the public to understand who he is. [Satoshi] “Especially if they're still involved,” Hoback added.

Sassaman's widow, Meredith Patterson, told DL News on Oct. 8 that HBO had not approached her for the documentary.

Hoback's conflict with Nakamoto's choice also excludes Hal Finney – an American software developer who received the first bitcoin transaction from Nakamoto in 2014. Finney has a 2.7% chance at Polymarket

Imprisoned software programmer Paul Le Roux has a 2.8 percent chance, while billionaire Elon Musk, former Nakamoto claimant Craig Wright and other once-famous satoshi Dorian Nakamoto and David Kleiman have slimmer odds.

Polymarket's “Other/Multiple” option currently boasts the highest odds at 37 percent.

Bit Gold, Polymarket's new flagship of Nakamoto's Szabo network, never launched. Still, it was considered a precursor and influence to Bitcoin as it incorporated the concepts of peer-to-peer networking, proof-of-work mining, and cryptography.

The connection led many to believe that Szabo was Nakamoto, but he denied claims that he invented Bitcoin.

Hoback confirmed in an October 5 X post that his documentary “rests on a certain name” – a gift that he thinks Bitcoin was started by someone.
